Vintage Small Size 5 "Hawks & Ogilvy" Brass NY Style Ball Handle Reel is in excellent condition. The reel spins freely and the drag works fine. The reel measures about 2 1/8 inches in diameter. There is one minor dent in the head plate rim just below the pull out drag that can be seen in the photos. The screw-off rear bearing cap and the pull out drag design are the same as that seen on marked Julius vom Hofe ball handle reels. Julius vom Hofe was a major supplier of reels to Hawks & Ogilvy.
