Natural Translucent White Opercula (Operculum)

measuring from approximately a quarter of an inch (1/4") to approximately a third of an inch (1/3") across.  Please feel welcome to specify whether you wish the largest or the smallest ones remaining; otherwise, I will choose the packet(s) at random to fill your purchase.  These opercula have a beautiful translucent white domed exterior, and the beige periostracum has been removed to reveal the natural translucent effect on the swirled flat surface.  To make the opercula glossy, similar to the petals of the sample flower blossoms shown in the photo, all you need do is oil them lightly after they are glued into place, or you can use a Dremmel-like tool with a carbon steel brush to polish the surface of each operculum to make it shine.  The characteristic swirl exhibited on the flat surface is ideal for creating the illusion of ocean waves, or spiral designs and accents in Sailor's Valentines!  And, what cute little flower petals!
