Description
Up for auction a rather Nice 1922-1927 MEISSELBACH No.625 "OKEH" LEVEL-WIND TAKE APART CASTING REEL. The No.625 was produced by A.F. Meisselbach Mfg. Co. from 1922 to 1927. It's famous for its "falling line guide", which flips down during the cast and then flips back up afterward. The face plate is stamped "OKEH Level Winding Reel No
625", while the tail plate reads "Patents March 5-'07 - Aug. 3,-'09 Others Pending" near the top and "A.F. MEISSELBACH MFG. CO. ELYRIA. OHIO U.S.A. - 100 YARDS" toward the bottom. A high quality reel that comes equipped with strong clicker, smooth operating level-wind, tension control, a spool with built-in brass & cork arbor, dual pyralin handle grips and a take-apart feature which allows the reel to be disassembled for servicing by simply unscrewing the tail plate by hand. Reel is in about Fine condition for these, showing just light to moderate wear. Displays beautifully. Works perfectly and is very smooth-running. A rather nice example of these early models from Meisselbach, all original and complete. To be sold with a very low starting bid and NO RESERVE. Buyer to pay .90 shipping via U.S. Priority Mail, with full insurance and tracking. Payment must be received within 3 days of auction closure. Thanks for your time and good luck.
