Gladys O'Donnell [1904 1973] was a prominent aviation pioneer and founding member of the Ninety Nines organization of women's pilots. In 1929 she soloed and became the first licensed woman pilot in Long Beach, California. O'Donnell entered the 1929 Air Derby with very little flying experience and placed 2nd behind Louise Thaden. O'Donnell became a well known and respected racing pilot and competed in many promient air races of the 1930's and served on the board of the Ninety Nines and was active in the aviation field until her death in 1973. Listed for auction is a vintage photograph signed by Gladys O'Donnell. The photograph is a aviation image of O'Donnell with her racing aircraft which she flew during the 1930's and is signed ''Gladys O'Donnell''
