Frank Hawks Record Breaking Pilot Aviation Pioneer Signed Letter Killed in 1938.

Frank Monroe Hawks [1897 1938] was a record breaking aviator of the 1920's and 1930's who used a series of Texaco sponsored aircraft to set 214 point to point records in the United States and Europe. Hawks retired from racing but died while flying an experimental aircraft on August 23, 1938. Listed for auction is a [TLS] typed letter signed by Frank Hawks on the letterhead of The Texas Company and dated December 18, 1930. The letter is addressed to the Pitcairn Autogiro Company and has aviation content and is signed ''Frank M. Hawks'' in black fountain pen. The letter measures 8.50 x 10.50 inches, it has trivial toning/creasing/edge wear and mounting remnants on the verso otherwise it is in very good condition. The autograph is authentic, signed on a desirable letterhead and is a nice example of this pioneering aviator. We have listed a nice collection of military, aviation and astronaut autographs.
