Description
Offered for your consideration is an antique bottle from the late 1800s to the very early 1900s.  The bottle contained "KANANGA WATER", which was touted as a 'new' toilet water and was made in Hamburg, Germany by Hauer & Co..  The label features a Japanese scene of a woman with a child, with both watching a spinning toy top.  Often times, these bottles used Japanese or Asian illustrations to make the product more desirable, enticing or exotic to the buyer  There are two labels applied to the bottle, one with the graphics and one with the contents and manufacturer information.  The bottle is embossed with the word KANANGA, just above the label.  There was an additional band label at the base of the neck, which is only partially present.  The bottle is in very good 'as found' condition, empty of contents, but still retains some sort of residue.  The labels do have some discoloration due to age, but are complete and legible.  There are also some marks to the label, which have been from the retailer of the product.  The bottle stands 9 1/4" tall with a 2 1/8" diameter base and has a weight of 11 ounces.  It will ship at 2 pounds, as it will be double boxed for protection.  A unique beauty for the collector.  Auctions can be combined to save on shipping.  Thank you for viewing my listing.
